Pacquiao vs Marquez III

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao is still the WBO Welterweight Champion after fighting with Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacman won by majority decision in their third match. Maria Aragon sings the Philippine National Anthem while American idol finalist Thia Megia sings "Stars Spangled Banner".

The pound-for-pound king gives a nice blow in the last few seconds of Round 3. Marquez , on the other hand shows good hits on Manny's body and face. In Round 6, Pacquiao was noticeably hit but Marquez's forehead starts getting red. In the following round, the Mexican boxer gives Manny a nice hit and his opponent was not able to answer back! Follow up jabs would have been great for Marquez!

Round 9 excites me. I see exchange hits. The people inside the MGM are standing and cheering! I thought it was the start of real action of the fight! Both boxers are aggressive until the end of the match but there was no KO. Manny's wife Jinky Pacquiao had red and teary eyes but her expression changes when her husband's title is retained as announced in the boxing ring.

Doubts start to arise after the fight.I hear people saying it's not a good fight. They say Manny is not the real champ. Others say Marquez should have won. I hope the video on Foot Stopper Trick by Juan Manuel Marquez will make you realize that Manny deserves to win and retain his title.You'll definitely agree on his answer during the post fight interview when he said "It's clear I won the fight" after seeing the youtube video.

Congratulations  Manny for making us proud again! I'm certain you're not one of those dirty fighters!

Pacquiao Wins Againts Mosley

The American boxer Shane "Sugar" Mosley was unsuccessful in defeating the Pound for Pound King! Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao retains his WBO Welterweight Championship title via unanimous decision.He didn't disappoint his million fans around the globe!On the third round Mosley dropped on the boxing ring while Manny did on the tenth round.He didn't agree  though when the referee called it because it seems like he's pushed and not punched!But overall Manny dominate the entire match while Mosley becomes his defending opponent. Mosley's hand speed becomes slower on the sixth round.Perhaps he's afraid that the Filipino boxer's left hand will hit and knock him down! On the last two rounds Pacman was determined to bring Mosley down.However, Sugar was able to stand and hold himself.

This is the first time I saw Manny wearing yellow gloves. Does it symbolize unity or  has it something to do with the Aquino administration? Manny's friends and relatives wear yellow shirts while watching his fight. Yesterday on Pilipinas Got Talent, the Philippine President's youngest sister Kris Aquino wished Manny good luck live on the show.

Mommy Dionisia can surely have her hermes bag that she requested to his son if Manny wins! Charice Pempengco sings the Philippine National Anthem in a right way.She didn't overdo it unlike the past singers who perform it at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Once again, Congratulations Manny Pacquiao for a good fight! You make us proud again.

Donaire Knocks Out Montiel in Round 2!

The Filipino Flash, Nonito Donaire showed a fascinating performance against Fernando Montiel. Donaire won by Technical Knockout or TKO in the second round  with the official time of 2:25 as called by Russell Mora, the official referee!A quick punch from Donaire's left fist made him successful in this fight! The Mexicans were stunned as they watch their boxer fell on the floor of the boxing ring in Mandalay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Nonito Donaire is now the new WBC and WBO Bantamweight Champion! He is taller than Montiel yet had only 26 victories. Montiel had 44 wins but the hungry Filipino boxer has taken his title.

I was having my lunch with my sister and I didn't expect that the match would end that fast! Congratulations to my fellow Filipino who made my country proud. I'm certain that Manny Pacquiao is happy for his victory!

Pacquiao Gets 8th World Title

The David-Goliath fight between Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito lasts for twelve rounds sealing Manny's 8th World Title!Manny holds the WBC super welterweight title.More than 41,000 were at the Cowboy Stadium in Dallas Texas to witness another legendary fight by the pound-for-pound king against the Mexican boxer.

At the first few rounds the two boxer show their enthusiasm.In the fourth round Margarito had a bad hit on his face.There was blood under his right eye.In the following rounds, you can  see Margarito's eagerness.His strategy is to pin Manny on the rope and throw punches.However, Manny manages to escape.Manny dominates the match but he slows a bit and had trouble escaping in round eight and nine when Margarito took advantage while his opponent is cornered.In the eleventh round, Margarito was badly hit. The boxing game could have been stopped since he had no more chance of winning but the referee didn't call it.In addition, Margarito showed that he has still stamina and can accept the punches so the game continues. You can see in Pacquiao that he glanced at the referee waiting for him to stop the fight.Manny shows respect to his opponent.I can feel that.

CONGRATULATIONS Manny Pacquiao, a Filipino Congressman and the "Pambansang Kamao" of  the Philippines for winning another world title! We are proud of you.

Filipinos are known to be jolly and music lover.Most Filipinos can sing and Dan Hill is happy to know that Manny can do boxing and recording at the same time!We're multi-talented and we do multi tasking!Dan Hill is a Canadian pop singer and songwriter.From a boxing ring to a recording studio the pound-for-pound king shows his enthusiasm and ability to perform well.Manny Pacquiao is doing Dan's hit song "Sometimes When We Touch".

In addition, our Filipino boxer is getting more and more popular! Pacman's endording a US Senator named Harry Reid.Pinoys abroad are proud and happy because reid had pushed Filipino rights to be accepted in the states.

On November 14, 2010 the seven-division champ "pacman" will face Antonio Margarito for another fight.Good luck Manny and bring home the bacon!

Little Pacquiao?

I was able to identify who "Little Pacquiao" is by watching the boxing event-Philippines vs The World that happened at Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Cebu City last August 28.A Filipino boxer named Florante Condes from Binangonan, Rizal is tagged as "Little Pacquiao". He is an IBF champ that won over an Indonesian boxer Sofyan Effendi.When I heard his alias, I got interested with the fight. Condes gained his nickname for being one of the hardest punchers in the lower weight. Like the pound-for-pound king Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, Condes uses his left hand to give a blast in the boxing ring to defeat his opponent.

The southpaw was leery of his "Little Pacquiao" tag.According to him Pacquiao and himself are different. Of course he can never be Pacman.He wasn't comfortable with it.However, he commented it's a great honor to be compared to his idol.But he'd prefer to be called as "The Lion from Manila".

Gi-irok si Cotto ni Pacman!

Two months ago I was under a condition (writer's block) in which I lost my interest to write. I was unproductive then but now I'm on! The Fire Power Boxing Event brought me back on track! The fight between our very own Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto is strong enough to encourage myself to publish a post today! To start with, the Puerto Rican boxer was filled with energy and excitement to attack Manny during the first round.Cotto was successful in his attempt. He scored on the first round.On the other hand, I could see that the pound-for-pound King was very relaxed.As the fight continues, it shows that it's a battle between speed and size. It was hard for me to bet this morning since it's undeniable that Cotto's physique can be a good factor for him. I'm not underestimating Manny's abilities though (^__*). Then, Cotto was on his knees on the 3rd round and I like what happened inside the boxing ring on the 4th round!I always have the feeling that he's going to get the title..that he's going to win! It's not because we're both Filipinos but remembering his previous fights made me think that he's truly a legendary boxer! As a whole, Pacman was dominating the match. However, Cotto was also showing what he has got with his punches and Pacman was hit by him. In the last few rounds, Cotto was traveling away!!!! Was that his strategy to last 'til the 12th round? His face was no longer nice to look at.Blood came out from his eyes and nose. On the final round, the referee interfered and stopped the fight allowing the Boxing Champ to kneel on the corner of the ring and thank God for another victory!Cotto had sustained a facial injury and can longer defend himself properly. With a technical knockout against Cotto, Manny is now hailed by boxing enthusiasts and for the rest of the people around the globe for having seven different title in seven different divisions! It's a peculiar thing in the boxing history! Pacquiao is a good sportsman. He never cheats and plays fair.I'd say that this Filipino boxer is a professional one. To Cotto, it's great to know that he lasted 'til the end. What a courage he has for pushing forward though he was unstable on the 10th round.Congratulations to the speedy Southpaw from Philippines! Hooray!!! I don't have any idea how the fight would be if Floyd Mayweather Jr. is Pacquiao's next opponent.

Pacman KOs Hitman in Round Two

A power shot from Manny Pacquiao's left hand gave Hatton "The Hitman" a knock out!It was on the second round when Manny had the free space and able to hit Ricky Hatton! The latter had given his best.I could see it.His enthusiasm shown on the opening round tells me so.Hatton is a strong boxer from the West but our very own from the East tore him down first. On the first few minutes he'd been attacking Manny and we were a bit worried that the World Champ won't make it!However, it turned out to be our celebration!!!! CONGRATULATIONS to "The Destroyer" Manny Pacquiao for winning this fight against Hatton of England.Perhaps, Hatton didn't make it because his girlfriend was around the fighting arena!jajajajajaja LOL.I've heard that bringing a female charm is unlucky.As far as I could remember Manny lost a match the moment that his wife Jinky witnessed the fight.Manny was beaten by his enemy inside the ring.Since then, I haven't seen Jinky around his husband's boxing events.What do you say?

Manny’s Boxing Event to be aired in ABSCBN or GMA?

Few minutes ago a breaking news caught my attention.It was a special announcement made by Manny Pacquiao’s attorney with regards to the contract signed between his party and solar sports.Two days ago, People’s Champ made a sudden change about airing his upcoming fight with Hatton.He said that it’ll be aired in ABSCBN.He was firm that time while he was informing the media.We knew already that GMA will have a special coverage with it so it was kinda surprising.And now GMA  cleared the issue that it’ll still be the network which will bring the fight to every Filipino.In my opinion, it doesn’t matter which station will cover it.The most important thing is that the Filipinos will not going to miss the fight!

It was said that no one should disobey the agreement.Manny’s attorney made it clear to the public that it’s GMA who will be officially covering the fight.

Manny said sorry for the confusion and inconvenience brought by the announcements made by them.As of this moment, he is more focus with his training and hoping that Philippines will get the belt against England.

The fight between Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao” (Philippines) and Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton” (England) will be on May 2 at MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas,Nevada.

A Filipino Boxer Wins Again!

We just saw the fight between Manny Pacquiao, a Filipino boxer champ and Oscar dela Hoya. It was an entertaining one. I watched the fight with my sisters and uncle. He visited us and he joined us in witnessing the match. I am proud to say that he belong to our race. Manny did bring the Filipino flag to the pedestal in the field of boxing. May his victory encourage more people to go for what they really want to do with their lives specially to newly-born boxers. On the eight round his contender surrendered and that made him won the fight. He got the title by TKO.The Philippine National Anthem was sung by Karylle.I'm surprise to know that she's born on December 21st too!She's a Filipino actress, model, singer, and TV host in GMA Network. The Pacquiao-Dela Hoya fight was presented in Philippine TV by this network and not by ABSCBN. Every Filipino is happy with his success. We triumph for his victory over his foreign opponent Oscar. People's champ Manny Pacquiao did an amazing performance and again he did make every Pinoy proud! Mabuhay ka Manny and Congratulations!

General Santos City Welcomes Pacman

The people of General Santos City are very warm in seeing their boxing champion and "kababayan" as well Manny Pacquiao in his last visit in his home town. From Gen. San airport to their streets the people are really waiting for Manny's comeback! There was a float parade and a small gathering in Carlos P. Garcia Park. Congresswoman Darlene Custodio was also there congratulating Pacman. After their misunderstanding during the election they are now friends. Manny ran last election in their city but failed to get the position. Custodio was still hailed as the Congresswoman in General Santos City.According to Manny it was a wrong timing when he decided to run. Hmmm, for me better not to engage himself in politics. He has to learn a lot to be able to become a good public servant. Enough experiences are needed to make you fit in a certain position that you wanna get. It's better to concentrate in his boxing career. Manny's possible next boxing event will be a fight with Edwin Valero, a great boxer from Valenzuela. The said fight will be in November in this year. After Valero he'll fight again to a western boxer. Manny's now thinking about his resignation in boxing. After the 2 fights I guess we'll know what will be his decision if he's gonna leave boxing or not. Congratulations to Pacman for being the 1st Filipino and 1st Asian boxer to hold 4 World titles in different divisions.

A Venezuelan boxer named Edwin Valero is rumored to be the next boxing opponent of Pacman. He's the WBA superfeatherweight champion.He won the title fighting against Vicente Mosquera of Panama.After the Lethal Combination fight Manny revealed that the said fight will be on November 8 this year. Hmmmm this will probably an exciting and challenging one. The pound-for-pound King in the world will face the southpaw! Valero had already 24 wins, with no lose all done with knock outs! He's now challenging our Filipino boxer. I'm gonna watch it! I wanna see how this boxer from Venezuela accept Manny's strong punches. On the contrary, I also wanted to see how will Edwin move in the ring with Manny's speed! This fight is shaky and will be the most-awaited one this year!

Lethal Combination- Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao vs. David "Dangerous" Diaz

The Lethal Combination which covered the boxing fight Light Weight Champion of the World- Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao vs. David "Dangerous" Diaz was brought to us in the Philippines by GMA-7 Network. The event happened in Mandalay Bay in Nevada. The fight was also seen in movie theaters live via satellite. Local and provincial officials offered a free viewing on their gyms for their constituents. Nichole Angela sang the Philippine National Anthem while Jasmin Villegas sang the U.S National Anthem.

The judges of the said boxing event are Garry Merrit, C.J. Ross and Paul Smith. In the blue corner was the "Pambansang Kamao" Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. Manny has a total winnings of 46 with 34 recorded knock outs and only 3 defeats. On the other hand,( red corner) David "Dangerous" Diaz gathered a total of 34 winnings with 17 knock outs and only 1 defeat. The fight began with contenders' aggression. Both are hungry of their victory. You can see that Manny and Diaz are starting giving off their punches. It's obvious that Manny is doing a good punch combination. Both were relax in the first round but the crowd were only shouting Manny's name. In the second round, Manny's really hitting Diaz on his head and body. During the third round, Manny did his power shots against Diaz. Take note, Diaz was really strong. He has the ability to absorbed Manny's hits on him. Physically, he is prepared. On the next round, more resistance can be seen in Diaz with Manny's attack with the use of her left and right punches! In the fifth round of the fight, Diaz eye was swolen. He got bloody eye now. I can smell Manny's victory is at hand! Diaz was still able to withstand his striking opponents. Manny's patience was tested in the seventh round, Manny's circling Diaz on the center ring. You can see fire in the eye of Pacman because Diaz was still hitting him in his body when the referee already called a time out! jajajajajajaja Many did a punch revenge on his head. I saw it! On the eight round, the fight was quite shaky. Diaz was having a hard time defensing himself on furious Manny! The people in the center were starting to call on Manny's name again. His small cut in the eye continuous to bleed. We were all waiting on Diaz next action on the ring because it is said that Diaz is dangerous during the final rounds ( round 9-10). That's how he got his trademark name.On the ninth round Manny defeated his Mexican opponent who's from Chicago. Diaz received Manny's 3 strongest punches in the entire event. The crowd were gain shouting! Poor Diaz laid on the ring floor after Manny's unstoppable hits. Manny won the Light Weight Champion of the World by knock out. The pound for pound king played professionally. He's indeed a phenomenon. It's true that this significant boxer from General Santos City is a great fighter! Manny's speed surprised Diaz! David Diaz admitted the fact!However he was a tough guy because he made it all the way to the ninth round. Governor Chavit Singson was there, Lito Camo who was the composer of Manny's first song "Para Sa 'Yo and laban Na 'To."was also seen in the arena. During the interview Manny's dedicating this fight to all Filipinos specially those victims of natural calamities that struck the Philippines lately. Manny's mom was happy that his son won because they wanted to give donation to all the victims of typhoon Frank.The NBA Champion Basketball team Boston Celtics was waiting for Manny backstage. They did picture taking and the group said that they like the Filipino boxer. I'm pretty sure that the whole Philippines is celebrating Pacman's victory! A welcome party and motorcades are expected. His countrymen are excited for his homecoming. It's still unproven if Manny will take the challenge to fight in 140.

Charice Pempengco

Little Big Star third place Charice Pempengco sang the National Anthem in the boxing event in the country last July 6, 2008 at the Araneta Coliseum. The said event was called Invasion: Philippines vs. the world. Filipino boxers againts other boxers in different nationalities. This newly born singer lost her passport when they were about to leave for Uk.This 15 year old singing sensation guested on Ellen Degeneres talk show> I can see and I believe that she can be the next shining and brightest star in her time in the field of singing! Charice can be a future walt disney singer for walt disney cartoons just like what Lea Salonga did. Filipinos were so proud of her for bringing the flag of the Philippines to the world and make it known! She's indeed a gifted one. A little yet big star that will record lots of songs and perhaps write songs in the future. She can be a song writer just Ogie Alcasid and other Filipino and foreign song writers. She does good in the field of singing and with the kind of talent that she has now she can even make it to the show business and have advertisers to endorse products with her. I can smell that. Charice is now having a very hectic schedule with her guesting here and abroad. I'm happy that another Filipino kid is born to show the world that "Kaya ng Pinay!". Go go Charice! Keep rockin'! This May Charice will be one of those kids that will be featured in Oprah. That episode will be about ordinary kids having extra ordinary talents to show! Wow! Gerry Peñalosa vs. Vorapin

This afternoon mom and I watched the boxing event the “Invasion- Philippines vs. the World”. The boxing event took place at Araneta Coliseum. The last and main fight was between Gerry Peñalosa and Ratanachai Sor Vorapin. Vorapin is a tough Thai boxer. He’s got wide body built and if you would compare it with Gerry’s, the Filipino boxer would really look small against him. I started watching on the third round. I can observe that Peñalosa was more on attacking and the opponent with defense. The said boxing event was covered by ABSCBN Sport Management. Manny Pacquiao was there watching those Filipino against other nationalities. I knowhe’s proud that another Filipino boxer retains it title in the world of boxing. In round four, Peñalosa got more aggressive. He was indeed a smart fighter. During this round, Vorapin got swollen eyes. The following round Peñalosa was fiercely attacking that Vorapin had bleeding nose. Peñalosa did a good combination of punches. And Vorapin was caught doing his bad tactics. Peñalosa stop hitting him when he was embracing Peñalosa and holding in his waist when he gave punches after that! That was totally foal! In round seven, I can smell Gerry’s victory. The Thai boxer was falling and was loosing his energy. If he just did Manny’s head movement, he’ll never get that swollen eyes. Peñalosa’s head got a bit bloody because of accidental head butt. Celebrities were there to watch the fight. Actors Cesar Montano and Bayani Agbayani were caught by the cameras. The fight lasted for eight rounds. During the last round, Peñalosa did the series of punching and hit Vorapin so badly. He was bloddy mess. His nose was bleeding and desperately pushing Peñalosa. Vorapin fell down on the eight round and Peñalosa won the fight without any major injuries.

Gerry Peñalosa still remains as the WBO Bantamweight Champion. He won his current fight by Technical Knock Out. Manny hurriedly went to the fighting ring to congratulate his fellow Filipino boxer. I’m pretty sure that he was happy and was proud that another Filipino is giving pride to Philippines when it comes to boxing. That was a spectacular winning done by Gerry Peñalosa held in his own country.

People's Champ-Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao

Emmanuel "Manny" Dapidran Pacquiao is a Filipino professional boxer. He is the current WBC Super Featherweight Champion.He is also the former world champion at IBF Super Bantamweight and WBC Flyweight divisions. He is the first Asian boxer to have won three titles in three different weight divisions. The last fight he had fight was held yesterday March 15 (March 16 in Manila,Philippines) in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas USA with Marquez. Manny won the fight and will bring back again the vistory to the Filipino people. Bob Arum, Top Rank promoter said that Manny is the one. A legendary boxer. Before the fight began, Juan Manuel Enriquez admitted that its hard to put Manny down. According to him, Filipino ring superstar is too strong to beat. But he had also his own strenght to attack Manny. On the other hand, Pacquiao revealed his new strategy. That is to make use of her right hand to punch! It was observed that Manny's left hand has the greater impact to his opponents. I was able to meet Manny in person but that was years ago. Our friend is a close pal to him and we were able to see him while having his practice fight in Davao Almendras Gym. His boys were really cute ones.To every Filipino, Manny brings the pride and flag of the country. He made it shine in the field of boxing. Keep up the good work Manny!
