Giving and Getting Feedback

“Constructive Criticism is when I criticize you. Destructive when you criticize me.”
Didn’t you notice that most of the time we are right when we are the ones who judge people? Unknowingly we see criticisms of people towards us destructive when it’s them correcting us. We find it below the belt or unacceptable because people notice our mistakes. We don’t realize that what people see in us is true and you have to change it because they find it undesirable and destructive to your life as a whole. When you accept criticisms, reflect on it and evaluate yourself so that negative feedback can turn into a good one. On the other hand, if you find it offending then you’ll definitely find it non-constructive.

My mom always refreshes our thoughts by talking to us if we have the chance. All of us are busy with our own careers but she always finds time for counseling. We were used to it. Every time she sees that we’re not on the right track she’ll definitely talk to you for a very long time. We’re expecting it especially when we did something wrong and she caught us. My mom tells us to check our hearts and desires in life. Furthermore she keeps on telling us that we should take people’s negative feedback as a challenge- that is to prove them wrong.

In order to live normally we should learn how to deal with negative comments and feedback Or else? You'll go crazy if you want to follow what everybody is telling you to do. We can't please everybody so take your stand and stick with it.

If you're a blogger, how do you manage negative or striking comments on your posts?

Prejudice

Can we live in a society free from prejudice?

Definitely NOT! As long as we are still living in this world full of material possessions and bitter people we cannot escape from people’s advance judgments. Why are people not rich with ideas? Instead they’re loaded with unnecessary buzz and rumors!

Prejudice is a negative word which also means prejudgment.Individuals who have high educational degree yet narrow minds are sometimes the very judgmental people. With the advanced studies that they had they’re expected to be more constructive when it comes to giving criticisms. Moreover, they should have wider understanding since they were able to go to school, educate themselves and become better individuals than those who don’t have the chance. It’s paradoxical because our expectation is not met. Instead, people who claimed to be educated ones are the people who are not observing and destroying the balance. They’re happy if they step on other people’s rights. They’re afraid that their power is overruled. People’s prejudices are sometimes the cause of conflicts and hatred.
Now my question is, if knowledge is not necessary for good judgment then what do you think it is? Leave it as a comment if you have an idea.

Betrayal,Trust and Life

Lately, I realized something in life. I learned that we need to open our arms again to new beginnings no matter how painful our past experiences were. Last month's revelation was truly a form of betrayal to my family. Among the members, I'm the most broken. Nevertheless, we are still standing firm. When big waves are coming our way, mom is always reminding us to be honest at all times and stick to whatever we believe are right.

In spite the bitterness that fate is giving us, we are always told to be thankful with it. That we should be glad when troubles come because at the end of the tunnel, there will surely light. Our mother is our great teacher and great adviser. She's reminding us to have that welcoming spirit and open our hearts again. Trust is such a treasure that we can gain from genuine people. Yet, the sad fact is, it's hard to win it back when integrity is lost.

Other people's experiences in life allow me to feel life as well. The last few statements will explain it further. "It's not ideal to trust only 3-5 people in your whole life. What will happen to you if they're gone in this world!? Life is complex and full of unexpected events that will surely shake us for Life is indeed full of surprises. Therefore, we need to become a fighter, a conqueror, a believer and a survivor to understand life fully and enjoy it."

What we did today??

Today we still have rain all day. I like the cold and the feeling when it rains. In times like this I guess each one of us inside this house has the chance to stay together at the living room. In the morning I watched a cartoon movie with all of them. Since we have a kid, we should give way to what kind of movie she wants. It’s the one from Walt Disney Pictures. It’s a story of a heffalump with Pooh and friends. Denise has a lot of DVD’s; from stories of princesses to Lion King and the likes. She was three when she had those DVD’s with her. Her mom and dad are really buying those for her. In the afternoon they played with Bob’s xbox while I’m in front of this computer updating my blogs. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to update all my blogs because our PC went wrong. I was very annoyed because I can’t continue what I was doing with the internet. I need to call somebody to fix this or else I’ll get head ache every time it happens again. After having our dinner we saw a TV show. A show that entertained us all. It’s like a survivor type of reality TV show but here the contingents are kids. It’s a great activity for the kids because they have task that test their physical fitness, alertness, smartness and social interaction. While they are in that isolated area or town, they were taught to have the sense of responsibility. They don’t have their mom or dad or siblings with them. So they really have to get along well with their peers and must show cooperation. The most important thing I got from that show is having the chance to lead. The role to handle other kids. Moreover, they’re practicing their own self to make a rightful and just decision for the common good. Furthermore, the spirit of teamwork is in their hearts. That’s one good aspect to have a strong nation in the future. The competition is not just merely offering money for the winners but more importantly caters an unusual experience and adventures for the kids that they can’t forget for the rest of their lives. I guess the show was “ Kid’s Nation”. My brother was watching also and at the back of my mind, he’s should be one of them to train himself. Teach him that mom is not forever with him. That he should be independent because in the first place he’s a guy and soon will raise his own family.

Personality Test

The personality test that was handled by St. Peters Rehabilitation was able to provide us with our longed interpretation of our inner selves. It was able to impart to us the knowledge and understanding of individual differences. People differ and definitely, we have our own lifestyle and preferences in life to suit our wants and needs or to gain satisfaction through it. We had given individual report form- "The Adjustment Inventory Revised (1962) Student Form by Hugh M. Bell. The said form shows our raw score percentile with regards to the different aspects of our lives. The HOME, HEALTH, SUBMISSIVENESS, EMOTIONALITY, HOSTILITY and MASCULINITY. We were all very much thankful that we have undergone such test for it really help us students to understand ourselves more we ever know. In addition, I thank oour Guidance and Counselling professor for letting us take the test. I know it has relevance with regards to understanding one's characteristics and personalities being possessed.
