Camiguin or Summer Camp?

My batch mates in college are going to Camiguin on April 16. One of my classmates informed me last night and she's inviting me in!She told me who among us are joining the group. I've been planning to visit that place and this is my chance to go there! I want to see my classmates too.The last time I saw them was last Christmas! We gathered together and it was a nice experience. We chatted about our jobs and how much we make out of it!jajajajajaja. It's not surprising to know that 70% are not working as teachers! I know what they love to do and many of them don't feel like teaching. I'm now excited to visit Camiguin and be with them. However, it's hard to make a decision. On the same day will be the official Opening Day of Kamp Pag-sa (The Camp of Hope). This is a summer camp for physically-impaired children and I'm volunteering myself. It's a 10-day camp and I already attended the seminars and meetings in preparation of next month's camp. All of us are waiting for this day to come.I want to see the campers that I met last year.I want to know how well they are right now. I can't easily give up the camp to have fun on my own because I got a responsibility. I'm appointed as an assistant group leader and I want to volunteer myself. Next month will be Kamp Pag-asa's 10th year. My only chance now is if the date of going to Camiguin will be moved earlier.Perhaps I can go.I love the beach and every summer I always have the chance to go somewhere where I can take a break and relax.A place which is far and a different one from the place where I live and work. Giving public service has been a good feeling.Meeting new people specially the disabled kids with much hope are definitely enticing me to be contended in life. Those children was able to touch me the moment that I was giving up. There was a sudden change in me after I joined the camp last year. I want to see Camiguin and join the summer camp too (^_^)

My New Haircut for Summer

Summer is at hand and I can feel the heat of the sun on my skin!I can now feel the sudden change of temperature in my city.I just had a haircut because I can't stand the warm with long hair! I sometimes tie my hair up specially when I'm out.I realized that it's more comfortable to get a new haircut which is shoulder level. Moreover, it's easy to comb and manage it.There were times that I'm too lazy to fix my hair and mom would say I look like an ugly witch without a broomstick to ride on!Furthermore, drying my hair won't take me a long time.
I'm loving my new look!My family and friends commented that I look fresh and better with short hair. There are summer tips that are known to us on how to protect our hair from being damaged under the heat of the sun during this time. It's good to know all those things to keep our hair healthy without spoiling the fun that we can have. Have a good summer escapade my friends.

Island Hopping in IGACOS!

The Island Garden City of Samal or commonly known as IGACOS has its natural beauties to offer for the visitors and tourist of the island. We went to "Kaputian" . The place is called so because of its crystal white sand beach in the area. "Puti" in English means "white".
The first plan that we had for today should be fun and drink. My tita gave us two options. At the Venue or in Samal. Few wants to go dancing and drinking.I disagreed with them. Nothing's new at the Venue and it's so boring to be back in that bar. It's a very common place to hang out. I want my tita to enjoy the heat of the sun while she's still in Davao. In Germany, she'll probably miss the beach and the sun! I was glad that majority of us had chosen the latter. Thanks to you guys (^_^) It's better to have something fresh and natural.
Tita Helen
You can reach Kaputian by an hour of boat ride from Sta. Ana Wharf. We first went to Vanishing Island. It's a small land area in the center of sea water. You can put up your tent, broil food and chill when its low tide. If it's high tide, you can't see it with your naked eye. However, the water level is not that deep unlike those surrounding waters. So we swam in there without wearing our life jackets. But you have to be careful not to go farther or else....much more dangerous if you don't know how to swim. Then we passed by in front of Pearl Farm. My tita told us a lot of things about it. She was explaining what we can see in that specific area of the resort. Pear Farm is a big area. The island fronting of it is still part of it! She's been there many times already. I was about to go their with my sisters but it was fully booked when we tried to get our reservations. Granny's been there too. Next we visited the Wishing Island. According to the people living in Samal, you can make a wish if you can get there. It has two slides throwing you to the water! Our uncle gave a try but we didn't. The slides was broken and there are big stones that can hurt us. Moreover, there are something under the water that are thorny. Not all of us can swim so my tita restricted us from sliding to that thing. Aunt Mona told us that there was a small house constructed in that island before . It's true because we can still see bricks and foundations above the area.We were laughing because one of my cousins was looking for a wishing well! How could she look for it when we were in a wishing island and we were not making a wish on a wishing well!jajajajajaja LOL We had a great dinner! The fish was so fresh! The seafood was deliciously prepared! We brought fruits with us so the meal was complete. Tita Helen got us an airconditioned room to sleep on. The funny thing was, we used the curtains of the room to be our mat while we were lying on the sand at night time!jajajajaja We carefully took it, hid it and used it secretly!jajajajajaja. It feels good lying at the seashore with them. We told stories and jokes as well. We felt the white, fine sand in our feet. The weather was not cold. It was perfect! I love doing it! Mom called checking us all. We were unable to answer her call because we left our handy phones in our room.

A New Haven to Relax Found in Davao

Yesterday, I went to Kaputian Beach Park at IGACOS-Island Garden City of Samal with my tita, siblings and cousins. We decided to have an island tour. We all agreed to rent a motor banca to take us all to our destinations. We arrived at the island by 1pm so we only picked up 3 places to visit. We were afraid to be on the water by 5 or 6 pm because big waves and winds might come our way. That would be so dangerous for everybody. We went to Vanishing Island, Wishing Island and passed in front of Pearl Farm. If all of us will stay in Pearl Farm that would cost much! We are many so maybe some other time. There is also a day tour in that resort. However, the family is planning to have a last outing in that island this Friday. While we were in the motor boat, we a saw a newly-built small houses around a developing resort. My uncle Jun married Aunt Mona who lives in Kaputian. She was the one who pointed it for us to identify the place. It's a nice area! It's a new place place for family outing. According to her the resort's name is Hof Gorei Beach Resort. This property is owned by a German national who married a Filipino/ he's with him. I'm uncertain about their status of their life. Looking at it from the motor banca that we were riding, you can see the small houses for functions and rooms. A pool was constructed. I guess the resort is not yet operating. If this will officially be opened for the public, it'll will be an additional tourist destination that can be found in IGACOS. It's great to go and try a new paradise...a new haven for you to relax and have a good time! The Island Garden City of Samal is offering the people white beaches and summer experiences that you can't forget. If you want to know more about this new resort I copied their site http://hofgorei-resortdavao.com/ that I got from a tarpaulin that is posted in the ferry boat that we rode in while we were on our way home. Hope this will help you guys.I love my city and so I am sharing you these wonderful things that can be found in Mindanao! We got the following cool pix while on the motor boat:
