True Beauty

Most people would do all they can to look the most gorgeous person.They spend so much money, time and effort to have that perfect body and face. Three weeks ago I came across an American reality TV show that features ten good-looking men and beautiful women. Their beauty is ranked and they have different challenges to undergo.

Unknowingly, there's more in the competition that meets the eye. There are hidden cameras around them. Their attitude is being watched.Although they are aware that certain basis is used in a certain beauty task, they have no idea about the secret task that they have to pass!

I love watching this kind of TV program because I speak for the shows's message.I do believe that beauty is inside out but true beauty come from within. Three people have been eliminated and the journey is still on. The winner will be featured in a popular magazine on their 100 Most Beautiful People issue. 

Heart of Christmas: Celebrity Challenge

The true spirit of Christmas is giving and GMA Network has aired their newest reality TV show which is Heart of Christmas: Celebrity Challenge (Puso sa Pasko: Artista Challenge).This isn't a typical reality TV show with different challenges to be played by the Kapuso stars. Their goal is to help selected individuals who are able to extend a hand in their community despite their disabilities and poor living situations. The celebrity couple will play and give their rewards to their respective chosen partners.

This is a very nice program made by the network. Actors and actresses who take part of the said show will definitely feel the season of sharing. I enjoyed watching it and my heart smiles as well while watching people helping people.

Heart Evangelista, Bianca King, Kris Lawrence, Rachelle Ann Go, Cesar Montano, Sunshine Cruz, and Ervik Vijandre are only some of the stars involved.

Akihiro-The First Celebrity Sole Survivor!

I knew it would be him! He's been my bet! He plays fair, admits that he did wrong at the island and realizes it. Although the first Celebrity Sole Survivor is not a Filipino, he is by heart! Job well done jury! I jumped off my sit when Aubrey was declared to be the seventh member of the jury! Solenn deserves as well. I could't accept though if it was Ervick!It's going to be a big no no!I remember in their last immunity challenge Aki and Ervick agreed that Aki would go down and Ervick would eventually give the immunity necklace to him.The latter didn't do it as agreed.He gave it to Aubrey instead, his puppet master!

Akihiro Sato is known as Mr.Nice Guy at the island in Thailand and I'm happy with the result.Good overcomes evil.Aubrey,Ervick and Solenn had the strategy but over-all Aki is the one who played with heart.Yes it's only a game in a reality TV show but it shows who you are.Congratulations Aki!!!

Survivor Philippines Season 3 Live in Manila

The Finale of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown will be on December 03,2010 in Manila. The jury voted for the seventh member of the group but the result will be revealed in the Philippines.After the result, they have to vote again to choose for the most deserving sole celebrity survivor for this season. Their excitement hangs in the air! 

I observed Ervic is the most hated one by the jury among the final four. Bitter questions were asked for him to answer.As expected he cried again.The host, Richard Gutierrez  seems so interested while listening to each of them.It's good for the jury to have the chance to pour their emotions. It's better to leave all those bad feelings they have in the island before going back to their real world.

Jon had the worst verbal attack! You could feel his anger!Aubrey,Ervic and Aki had a hard time answering him back except Solenn.Jon almost didn't give them a chance to speak.That was mean but Jon savored that moment to express his heartache.

Nanay Elma is Out of the House

The remaining castaways made Nanay Elma believe that she would stay longer.Perhaps she hoped that her fellow castaways would retain her.Nanay Elma,however, is not smart enough to do more effort. She should have talked sincerely to Moi and Aki so that they would agree to vote Ervick or Solenn out since Aki doesn't like the latter much.I think, she's confident because she always hears them say that she's going to be on top 3.Nanay Elma is officially out of the game and the fifth member of the jury.

In survivor, being strong is a good asset but being witty is the best way along with your alliances.Moi, Solenn and Aubrey are not physically strong.They made it to top 5 though.They have used their brain and that saved them to make it this far.

Tomorrow the last immunity challenge will be played with a car as the reward challenge.The men, Ervick and Aki have higher chances of winning the said challenge compared to the women.

Aubrey Miles in Survivor

Moi found the buried immunity bracelet.I want Nanay Elma to have it.She could have found it if Moi hadn't dug with her on the same tree.She needs money the most for her family and children.She deserves to stay longer too.Aki is really a good man.I never knew he has a good heart for other people. He's in survivor but he's not showing selfishness unlike Aubrey.She has got more money and want to have 3Million more! I know she's just playing well with the game but by doing so, she made other people in the Philippines hate her.

To some people, they like how Aubrey plays.She does the typical survivor, to do what it takes to save and raise herself.However, Filipinos are more concern about attitude.Survivor Philippines is aired nationwide and Aubrey does not set a good example.The jury receives letters from other castoffs who are not members of the jury and they have common advice.That is to hail the sole celebrity survivor that is deserving and has good characteristics in spite the nature of the game.

Nanay Elma would probably be voted out tomorrow by Aubrey,Solenn and Ervick.

Ahron- the 11th Castoff

Aki wins immunity!He lasted for four hours and thirty minutes raising a hand! He made it through despite having  bad weather in the island.

Akihiro-Solenn-Ervick in "Itaas ang Kamay" Challenge

Ahron Villena is the 11th castoff in Galone's tribal council.Aubrey and her alliance successfully break Moi-Ahron bond.Now, they can easily kick Moi out too if she can't form a stronger alliance.Moi is in trouble now.She needs to get more votes or find the buried immunity bracelet at the camp to save herself and stay longer.

If you ask me, I want to see a new alliance to break Aubrey-Ervick tandem.I want the castaways to try making a new one.That would probably spice up the game!Good luck to the remaining castaways of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown!

Raise Your Hand

"Itaas ang Kamay" or Raise your Hand challenge is indeed an endurance one!Castaways have to keep their one hand up because if not, a drum of liquid would pour over them and would take them out of the game.It's their fourth individual immunity challenge.

Moi, Ahron and Nanay Elma are already out.They gave up.They admitted they can't continue playing the challenge.Aubrey on the other accepted Richard's bribe which is fried chicken with vegetable salad.Thus, quitting the challenge as well.We already know she has got a bracelet.The weather made the challenge more difficult and challenging for them.

Three remaining castaways namely; Akihiro,Solenn and Ervic are still fighting to get the immunity necklace. Tomorrow we will find out whose strength will make it 'til the end.

Michelle is out in Survivor Philippines

Michelle reunites again with her lover, Jon after being voted out. She's the third member of the jury together with Aira.She looks happy that she gets to be with people who like her.At the camp, Michelle is an outcast!But it made her become a stronger person and fought until she can.

Aubrey is smart.She focuses on the game.She always gives safe answers.It's obvious that she manipulates the game and successfully gains puppets! Michelle is right when she said that the rest of them are afraid of taking risk like making a new alliance because they know Aubrey's alliance is the stronger one.Their attempt to make the game nasty wasn't successful.

Aubrey's next step would probably destroy Moi-Ahron alliance before getting rid of Solenn and Nanay Elma.It's definitely easy for them to kick Aki out of the way after.Aubrey Miles is dying to be the first celebrity sole survivor, isn't she?

Aira's Journey Ends

Aira is voted out in Survivor Philippines.She's the second member of the jury.She's going to stay at the jury house with Jon Hall.She looked surprised and felt betrayed.If we remember they made a new alliance in Koh Payam resort and agreed to get rid of the men first.She didn't expect the result of the votes.Well, Aubrey's alliance is just stronger than their newly-made one.

Last week when Jon was out I felt sad because he plays well but he didn't have a strong alliance.Now,I'm happy because Michelle is staying! I wanted her to win the immunity bracelet and I felt pity on her when she cried after the challenge.Getting it is her only way to save herself.Moi was lucky to win the game.

Perhaps Galone has realized that there's a possibility of making new alliance.For the rest of them to win, they have to get rid of the guys first so that Aubrey won't have puppets and break their strong alliance.Then they can kick off one by one who stands their way to get the 3Million pesos reward.

A Great Lesson from a True Story

All of us want to be somebody in the society and be proud of whatever we have or achieved. I've got a question for you to answer.Would you like to have a very inclined life in the beginning of your journey but in the end you end up with nothing? I want to share this true story that will teach every Filipino family a lesson.

I watched the "Blusa" Episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya via internet. Blusa is a tagalog term which means a blouse.That thing was wore by the main character by the time that she was hunting for a job.It was a gift given to her by her caring and loving sister (Dimple Romana).The main character was played by Angel Locsin.She was awarded as Magna Cum Laude when she graduated in college.She's a product of the University of the Philippines.She's an achiever in the family and her parents are expecting much from her.Her siblings stopped going to school because she was the one prioritized to be sent .Since she was a young girl all she wanted was to help her family alleviate from poverty.Her goal is to fulfill it.She was high-spirited and very much confident that after finishing school she'll have a good job.

Fate came and tested her.She tried hard to look for one but she didn't get any.In addition,she was pressured because her dad got sick.She had to give financial support to them and found herself working in a night club!Her mom sent her away after her father died without getting proper medications and she blamed herself much. She believed that she caused the death of his father.

She came from a province and she was a scholar in UP Manila.Her sister stayed with her in times that she's no longer in her proper  mind setting.Due to depression, much family pressure and extreme disappointments she went crazy. Her emotional stability was shaken with what happened to her.She's no longer having normal thinking.She doesn't have enough food to eat most of the time because her sister had to leave her. The main character has an attitude problem and that cause their separation.Her pride is the reason why she wasn't successful. She keeps on thinking that she's a failure to everybody.

I'd say that her life isn't balance.He never had a boyfriend to be with or close friends to share her problems with.She only had her sister.Her sister has her own family.She didn't stop taking care of her though.Her mom was no longer concern about her because her mom felt that she's a disappointment in their community.

It couldn't happen to her if only if her mom didn't force her to achieve great things in life easily.Her pride added to her own destruction.She longs for good things for her family.There's nothing wrong with it.But the way she sees how life goes is the wrong one.Furthermore, she doesn't have the right perspective and thought that life is indeed unfair.

I always believe that the kind of foundation that a family has will serve as the members' base in getting into the different avenues of life.Moreover, balance is the key word to get along with the world well.

Intelligence alone can't make a person successful.Attitude goes along with it.

An Idiot Box!?

Some of us are too much addicted to watching television.We are really attached  to the different programs that we see.It is indeed true that TV is an effective means of communication and broadcasting the current events around us.In addition, it allows people to acquire knowledge like being able to know the things about a certain place that you've never been to.However, there are recorded disadvantages brought by doing it excessively.Critics have seen these things and coined TV as an idiot box!It's described so because it ruins our good life if  improperly used.

First, it resulted in gaps between family members since we spend more time in watching TV than giving quality time to our children.Second, we become physically and mentally unhealthy.We can no longer do physical exercise and sharpen our mind because we're gradually turning into passive viewers.Third, our values and characters are not inclined anymore due to imitation.What happen to us is we become a copycat of what we always  see on TV!As a result, our point of views and decision in life are greatly influenced by media.

Although we are currently undergoing such struggles we can still do something to make things better.Parents ought to control the viewing time of their children.Parental guidance should be highly practiced.It's their duty to protect the empty vessels of their young ones.Moreover, teachers should teach their learners how to be conscious of what they see and hear.Furthermore, young people should learn how to be aware of the good and bad things on TV.They should know how to distinguish on which ways to follow or not.As a result, they now become responsible home viewers.Thus, avoiding possible mess done by the idiot box that could poison their wondering and hungry mind.
