Gothic Look

Gothic look is in during Halloween. Halloween parties are everywhere and costume competitions are expected to happen. People who don’t feel like wearing costumes of witches, dead people and messy horror characters, gothic look is the best option to take. In my own opinion, this is a modern way of fixing and decorating yourself when attending parties during this spooky season. A pirate look can be associated to a gothic look. Wearing a hat, beads, rings, bells, bandana and loose shirt and pants will give you a complete set of pirate look attire!

There are people who don’t want to perfectly meet their Halloween costumes like bringing a pumpkin, a candle or a broomstick with them. Another option is the Harry Potter look. In Davao, there was a Harry Potter inspired Halloween Party for all the fanatics of this movie and best-seller book.Dressing up like your favorite Twilight character will make u stand out too!

Spirit Photos

The spooky month of November is about to come. Horror reports were delivered. Goosebumps stories were told. Signs were seen by sensitive ones. People who claimed to have used and opened their third eye start to scare us. Do you believe that unsettled spirits can relay their messages through the photos that we had taken are possible?

Some people say it is. But according to photographers like Ben Chan, it’s impossible because we can make tricks with our photos. With the presence of photo editors we can make a lot of changes and special effects like applying double exposure with our pictures. They firmly believe that these spirit photos are fake. People love to invent stories to earn money. Since we remember All Saints and All Souls Day their trivia seems genuine to us. On the contrary, spirit questors say that during this month the wall that separates the world of living and that of the dead is very weak Hence, allowing these unstable spirits to linger with us and relay their messages while they have the chance.

Pumpkin Picking and Carving

In some parts of the world Halloween is an event that people wait for.We are aware that it happens every October.There are Halloween-inspired parties and children enjoy picking and carving pumpkins!Some dress up for Halloween celebrations.But in the Philippines we don't see it as an important one.It's up to people, to families or different organization if they want to celebrate it.

Trick and treat is a way of celebrating the holiday. It's a custom when children visit houses at Halloween and say trick or treat to ask some candies or chocolates. They put a candle in a pumpkin and bring it as they roam around the village with their friends or families.Others make it as a house decor during the holiday.

Have you ever wondered how it began?

The Catholic had made an event that allowed beggars to ask for some food like cake, cookies, bread etc. in exchange of a prayer for a dead person. The church believes that through prayer a dead soul can enter the gates of heaven.It's called Soul Cake Day. It is believed that the idea of trick and treat originated from it.
